Overview

Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez was founded durring the early 9th century, by Hå. The establishment of Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez was built using the conventions of Gnoll durring the early 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez is buildings are built arround a single crampt paverstone mainstreet which forms a counterclockwise spiral to give the city a over all circular shape. The city rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. The city's millitarily questionable fortifications are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the citys defences.

A look around Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez makes it abundantly clear the city suffered something horrible some time ago. It’s a quiet city filled with closed scriptoriums, people quietly yet dejectedly reading in isolated places around town, and the occasional book laying in a heap of garbage.

Almost every community has some problem with bandits and highwaymen, but Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez is seriously plagued with raiders. One or more groups of persistent plunderers are hitting the community repeatedly, and they lack the necessary resources to fend them off or protect all their holdings.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez lost 121 people, 369 livestock, and 83 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 126, when members of Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez's militia enacted an operation to defend a particular elites group from enemy attack. The operation was complicated by the enemy forces had far more numbers than estimated. The conflict ended with the defense of the fortification against a siege, which ended in a stalemate for Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Slæ̈rn Káxï-slez's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
